Tribal leaders in Marja, the site of an imminent offensive by international forces, expressed skepticism that the operation would protect them from insurgents.
It's interesting to see that the Marja elders are agreeing to develop a civil government. The media would have us believe that it is complete mayhem in Afghanistan and that everyone their is a terrorist.
The main issue is that the community of Marja wants reassurance of there protection after the Taliban cleansing. The government has to either keep both the Afghan and NATO troops in that town and or develop a strong police force.
