Afghanistan: Less to Cheer

A series of setbacks for the coalition in Afghanistan

  1. It is such a pity that NATO is in Afghanistan to do good yet an error in killing civilians could over shadow their intentions and their pass work in the country. This is a difficult one to assess, part of me would like to say that the government officials need to be more forceful on the military in identifying targets. This mistake should not have happened, these soldiers are professionals it looks bad on America. However mistakes do happen, and we have to a)take responsibility for the mistake, b)investigate who made the call, and c)find out what lead him or her to believe that they were targeting Taliban?

The other part of me would like to say to President Obama, that he needs to get these guys out of there and strip them of there medals. You cannot replace a life, back home in America what would have been the proper protocol for such a tragic mistake? Does being somewhere else makes it lesser on the American standard? if it does, it shouldn't.
